Fat '50s Pickups
The
sound of a 1950s Strat but with a little bit more attitude.
The
Fender Fat '50s Strat Pickups give you calibrated pickups constructed with
hand-beveled, staggered Alnico V magnets and Formvar magnet wire. The Fender
Fat '50s Strat Pickups deliver enhanced bass response without the harsh
midrange. The middle pickup is reverse wound/reverse polarity for hum canceling
in positions 2 and 4. OEM on Custom Shop Fender Showmaster series Stratocaster
guitars. Each of the Custom Shop Fat '50s pickups are wound differently
and are color coded on the back side on one of the pole pieces to indicate
which pickup is designated for which position. Red pole piece indicates
bridge position. Blue pole piece indicates neck position. Silver
indicates middle position (just the color of the pole piece, no colored
paint).
